The Legend of Juan Jose Mundo
Based on a true story, The Legend of Juan Jose Mundo is a bold coming-of-age story set in suburban New York in 1984. When a magnetic Spanish exchange student arrives, he quickly becomes a teenage sensation—seducing, inspiring, and leaving chaos in his wake. Sixteen year-old Julie Gornick watches as his legend grows, fueling her obsession while exposing her deepest insecurities. As her friends chase sex, love, and rebellion, Julie is torn between desire and fear, trapped between who she is and who she wants to be. With Juan’s departure looming, she’s forced to confront her limits, and risk everything for a moment that could define her.
